The Brain Tumour Charity welcomes HEFCE announcement
Earlier in February, the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) published its annual grant letter. It includes funding of £198m for the Charity Research Support Fund (CRSF) – the same total as last year.
The CRSF provides universities with money to meet the indirect costs of research that are not covered by charity grants, such as infrastructure and general overheads. The Fund only supports charity-funded research awarded through a competitive, peer-reviewed process.
Government support through the CRSF means that money raised by The Brain Tumour Charity can be spent directly on vital research to improve our understanding, diagnosis and treatment of brain tumours.
