Get your chemotherapy questions answered at our virtual Q&A

The Q&A will be held in BRIAN, our online app for people affected by a brain tumour. It’s free to attend and easy to sign up.

On Tuesday 28 July, between 12.30pm and 1.30pm, we’ll be hosting our first live Q&A with Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust experts. They’ll be answering all your text-based questions.

It will be your opportunity to ask questions about chemotherapy, side-effects, treatment options and more and have them answered by expert medical professionals specialising in brain tumours.

BRIAN, our online app for people affected by a brain tumour, will host Dr Matt Williams and Lead CNS Shivani Soni.

Dr Matt Williams is a consultant clinical oncologist, specialising in treating adults with brain tumours and delivers chemotherapy, radiotherapy and stereotactic radiotherapy (SRS).

Shivani Soni is the lead neuro-oncology CNS (clinical nurse specialist) at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.

Eve Kelleher, Head of Services at The Brain Tumour Charity, said: “We know all too well that a brain tumour diagnosis, whether it’s you or a loved one who’s diagnosed, can be an isolating experience. This is why BRIAN exists, to connect you to the knowledge you need and show that you’re not the only one.

“This live Q&A is intrinsic to the work we are doing with BRIAN to inform and support everyone in our community, helping them to get the information they need and connect them to the experiences of others so they can see what to expect and know that they are not alone.”

We’ll do our best to answer all your questions, but if we aren’t able to get to them all, we’ll share all the answers after the event.

About BRIAN:

BRIAN is a genuine differentiator for The Brain Tumour Charity and offers the opportunity to move us to the next level in achieving our goals - halving the average years of life lost to a brain tumour from 20 to 10 years by 2025 and halving the harm that brain tumours have on quality of life in the UK.

It allows anyone living with a brain tumour, or caring for someone with a brain tumour to track, share and compare their brain tumour experience with others, as well as share their quality of life information with their healthcare team.

BRIAN not only provides support to those living in the UK but it has the potential to extend our reach beyond just the UK by tapping into the data from brain tumour communities all over the world.

By signing up to BRIAN and sharing your experiences, you’ll help revolutionise the research landscape, providing researchers access to much-needed patient data to advance treatments, improve care and, ultimately, drive progress towards a cure.
