This year, we are thrilled to be supported by The Julia and Hans Rausing Trust (pictured far left at the unveiling of their Royal Academy Schools rennovation grant), who have pledged a magnificent £25,000 towards this campaign. These funds are being used to double donations from the public, meaning that every gift through The Big Give Christmas Challenge can have twice the impact.
The COVID-19 pandemic continues to have a devastating impact for so many people affected by a brain tumour, and it is also putting a lot of charity-funded research at risk.
Our best estimate is that we are going to see over a 40% drop in our income this year, and The Association of Medical Research Charities (AMRC) estimates that the impact of COVID-19 on the charity sector as a whole could see medical research spend take 4.5 years to recover to normal levels.
For everyone affected by a brain tumour, a cure can’t wait – which is why The Big Give Christmas Challenge is so vital. This campaign will raise funds to help us continue our world-class research, improving our understanding of the disease and helping develop new and kinder treatments.
