Taylor Swift reveals her mum is battling a brain tumour

As reported in the Metro this afternoon, Taylor’s mum Andrea, battling cancer for the second time, has a brain tumour.

The Metro reported: “The 30-year-old was filming for her upcoming Netflix documentary when they were told the tragic news.

"She was going through chemo, and that’s a hard enough thing for a person to go through,” Taylor explained.

“While she was going through treatment, they found a brain tumour. And the symptoms of what a person goes through when they have a brain tumour is nothing like what we’ve ever been through with her cancer before. So it’s just been a really hard time for us as a family.”

Our thoughts are with Andrea, and with all of her family and friends.

Everyone whose life has been touched by a brain tumour diagnosis will know instinctively just how difficult this is for Taylor Swift and her family.

We are grateful to her for her honesty in speaking about the impact of the diagnosis, the family’s uncertainty and her desire to spend as much time as possible with her mother, which will help others to feel less alone as they face similar painful situations.
