Record numbers take part in our 2016 Twilight Walks

Our three October Twilight Walks were a huge success, with over 1,800 walkers and volunteers from our community.

We saw a 50% increase on last year attendance, which really shows how important the three events are for everyone in our community. The Twilight Walks raise awareness, vital funds for research into brain tumours and foremost offer the opportunity to unite everyone affected.

Some of the feedback from you show how much they meant. We could not have done this without you:

When your loved one is diagnosed with a brain tumour, you’re in bubble. You just get on with it, don’t you? Coming here today and hearing other people’s stories has been overwhelming. Now I realise I’m not alone.” Bernie

“After my lovely sister Mandy died from a brain tumour in February, I knew I had to do something positive in her memory. When I heard about The Twilight Walk, I knew I had to be here. Seeing a sea of red is so touching and it’s amazing how powerful hundreds of strangers – sharing the same purpose – can be.” Tracey

“I came for that feeling of solidarity. That’s why I’m here again today. It’s a wonderfully empowering feeling, it’s tremendously powerful. Last year I walked with hope, this year I walk in memory. For all of us, we are not walking alone.” – Dr Sara Saigol

Thank you and well done to everyone who made The Twilight Walk the best yet!
