You’re invited to our APPG on brain tumours

We would like to invite you to our meeting of the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Brain Tumours.

The APPG on Brain Tumours will meet on Wednesday 9 December, from 4:15 – 6:15pm, in Westminster to discuss the new five year Independent Cancer Taskforce Strategy and how it will improve survival, quality of life and services for people affected by a brain tumour.

In attendance will be Emma Greenwood, a member of the secretariat of the Independent Cancer Taskforce and Head of Policy Development at Cancer Research UK. She will provide an overview of the strategy and plans for its implementation. We will also hear the reflections and experiences of a clinical oncologist and two people within our community who have been directly affected.

This will be followed by a discussion open to the floor, providing you with an opportunity to tell Parliamentarians and clinicians about your experiences and how you think things can be improved with the help of Government and NHS England. We strongly encourage you to invite your MP to attend and listen to the stories and experiences of the panel and audience.

The strategy outlines recommendations for change over the next five years to deliver better outcomes for cancer patients in England. It includes recommendations that will affect people with a brain tumour on issues such as early diagnosis, services for children, teenagers and young adults, and the challenges of living with and beyond cancer.
