Snowdon by Night June 2023

Snowdon by night team 2023 raises £18,724!

On Saturday 17 June 2023, 32 incredible supporters of The Brain Tumour Charity ascended Mount Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa as it’s known in Welsh) and raised an incredible £18,724! The 2023 Snowdon by night team took on an epic challenge and were faced with rain, thunder and lighting when they climbed 1085m to the top of Snowdon. We set off at 18:30 from the Coffee pot café, the atmosphere was full of anticipation, inspiration and determination whilst we watched the mountain come into view and dark clouds hover our way.

As the team reached the top, there was an incredible sense of pride and accomplishment. For many, this was a very sentimental moment, watching the sun set over Wales and thinking of their loved ones who have been affected by a brain tumour. No sooner as the relief of avoiding the storm was felt, we were up against the elements for the decent. Wind, rain, thunder and lighting thrashed upon the mountain as our brave challengers took on their decent, prepped and ready to throw their walking sticks to side if the lightning appeared above them.

The team returned to base camp at 02:30 for warm drinks, delicious sandwiches and rounds of applause from family, friends and the Brain Tumour Charity team. We were even joined by a four legged friend who took the challenge on too!

Climbing Snowdon is no easy task and our team took it in their stride and faced the challenges thrown in their to overcome this challenge.
