Deianira (‘Dee’) was such a wonderful and talented woman. An amazing wife, mum, daughter, sister and friend. She started learning piano aged 5, achieving Grade 8 very early; she then studied Classical Piano and Flute at the Trinity School of Music in London, and qualified as a piano teacher.

This was the foundation for an outstanding career in music; Dee excelled as a pianist, singer and songwriter, releasing many albums of her own songs, which we will showcase here. She heard and arranged her music very clearly in her mind, and accepted nothing less than perfection from herself, and her colleagues, in the recording of it. It was such a joy to listen to her, to work with her, and to be in her presence.

Dee

Dee was diagnosed with Stage 4 Glioblastoma in 2016 – she fought long and hard through a number of major operations, and exceeded the prognosis several times over, before passing away, aged 42, in September 2020.

She faced it all with immense courage and grace, and with a wonderful sense of peace borne out of her Buddhist beliefs, and the support of her family and friends.

We have used the past tense here only to represent the facts as they happened – the truth is that Dee is as alive as ever in the hearts and minds of all of us who knew her, loved her, and love her music.

Please help us as we seek to raise both awareness of her life and work, and as much money as we can, to help The Brain Tumour Charity combat this most cruel disease.
