Shaun’s story

On May Day the 1st May 2006 our lives and lives of family and friends around us changed forever when Shaun suddenly collapsed at home without any warning. We rushed him to hospital where after hours of tests it was discovered he had ‘something’ in his head. After a series of seizures in hospital, he had an emergency op to remove the tumour from his brain. After days of intensive treatment Shaun was unable to fight back from the operation and left us forever on 5th May 2006 4 weeks before his 16th Birthday. Wendy and me lost our son and Katy my daughter lost her brother and best friend to a rare brain tumour (WHO grade IV Glioblastoma).

Shaun was a bright and happy young man who had just started his exams at Bishopbriggs High School. He hopefully planned to study aerodynamics and then enrol in the RAF. One of his aims was to learn to fly.

With the help of friends family colleagues and associates we have been active in fund raising since 2007 raising in excess of £60,000 for brain and other cancer charities over the past 7 years.
