Sue’s story

The Sue Robson Fund has been created in memory of an amazing woman. In both her professional and personal life she was respected and appreciated for her energy, passion and determination.

She was also much loved for her warmth, open-heart and amazing ability to connect with others. Sue thrived on helping others and making a difference to those in need. She would have been the first person to take the initiative and devote time and energy to campaign for a worthy cause so it seems entirely apt to have a fundraising campaign in her name.

Sue’s temporal lobe tumour was first diagnosed 8 years before she passed away on 4th November 2014, aged 60. Throughout her illness Sue fought to live her life to the full; always keen to keep working as much as possible, always open to enjoying herself and having fun. At times she was able to engage fully with life in the way she loved to do, whilst at other times the impact of the different treatments – surgery twice, several bouts of chemo and then radiotherapy, took their toll on both her physical and emotional wellbeing. Even so, she always came back fighting and determined, demonstrating her love of life and her care for everyone around her. Right to the end, Sue sought and found comfort and joy through connecting with others – family, friends, colleagues.

Sue is both greatly missed and lovingly remembered. Her integrity, strength of character and love of life have provided the inspiration for the Sue Robson fund, through which we hope to help to raise awareness along with funds, to support the Brain Tumour Charity and their research.

We all strive to share the amazing spirit Sue showed us when faced with the worst and to grow her legacy to help other families dealing with such difficult times.
