The Brain Tumour Charity responds to the news of Tom Parker’s glioblastoma diagnosis

There was a huge outpouring of support for Tom Parker and his family, following his announcement across social media platforms on Monday of his brain tumour diagnosis.

Glioblastomas are the most common primary brain tumours in adults and they are also unfortunately one of the most aggressive forms of the disease.

We urgently need to see greater awareness of brain tumours and greater investment in world-class research – a cure really can’t wait.

We are determined to understand how and why this tumour type forms and develop new, effective treatments.

Our CEO, Sarah Lindsell, said: “Our hearts and thoughts go out to Tom, his wife Kelsey and young daughter and their family and friends, following the news of a diagnosis with a glioblastoma brain tumour.

“Everyone who has been touched by a brain tumour will know just how hard this must be for them.

“We stand with everyone whose lives have been turned upside down by this cruel disease and are committed to finding a cure so that one day no other family will have to hear those devastating words.”
