New Research Study – Exploring Support Videos for People Affected by Brain Tumours
We would like your help testing a series of education and support videos created to help people affected by a brain tumour navigate their diagnosis. Your feedback could help shape these videos for the brain tumour community.

Being diagnosed with a brain tumour can bring many challenges – emotional, physical, and practical. At a time when so much can feel uncertain, having clear, compassionate information can make a real difference.
As part of a research study, Melinda Rena has developed a series of education and support videos designed to help people better understand their diagnosis and navigate its impact on everyday life. The videos are flexible, accessible, and can be watched at any time, allowing you to engage with the content at your own pace.
By taking part, you will help the research team test these resources and provide feedback to ensure they meet the needs of people affected by a brain tumour, now and in the future. Even as a participant at this stage, the researcher hopes these videos will offer meaningful support.
Purpose of the study
Receiving a brain tumour diagnosis can trigger a wide range of emotional and physical responses. People may experience sadness, anger, guilt, sleep difficulties, digestive issues, or pain. Everyone’s experience is different, and without the right support, these challenges can persist, affecting both mental and physical wellbeing. This can make coping with treatment more difficult and may lead to unhelpful coping habits.
This study aims to test pre-recorded education and support videos created by the research team. The videos are designed to be flexible, allowing patients and carers to watch them at a time and pace that suits their needs.
How to get involved
We invite you to take part in a four-week research course to review these support videos. The start date is flexible, so you can begin when it works best for you.
During the four-week period, participants will be asked to:
- Watch the education and support videos at their own pace
- Complete short surveys at different points in the study
- Take part in simple wellbeing activities
- Join a one-to-one interview to share experiences and feedback
