Our challenges

Take part in an amazing challenge, while raising awareness and funds for research into brain tumours. Some of our favourite experiences are below.

Do something amazing and sign up to one of our charity challenges. Have a look at some of the challenges (including challenges abroad, and overseas treks) you can take part in below, or contact our events team to discuss further options, and for more information.

100km Challenges

Walk, jog or run 100km in the Ultra Challenge Series. The challenges take part over 36 hours and you can complete them on your own or as part of a team.

“A huge challenge but it was really amazing sense of achievement once we'd finished. Really well organised and supported every step of the way!" Samantha took part in the Thames Path Challenge in 2016.

Iceland Trek

Join a small group of The Brain Tumour Charity supporters as we travel for five days through Iceland's classic highland landscapes. This challenging charity trek journeys across black sand deserts, through glacial rivers and streams, over the colourful hills of Landmannalaugar and down into deep gorges.

What's included?

The trek includes return flights from the UK, accommodation, transport, most meals, camping equipment (excluding sleeping bag) and the services of a tour leader, group doctor and a charity representative who will join the whole trip. Our fundraising team will be on hand to help you reach your target and will provide you with a fundraising pack, training plan and packing list to help you make the most of your experience.

Trekking information

Terrain varies from dirt or shale paths to lava and rock. There will be steep inclines up and down and it may be rough underfoot. A good level of fitness and experience on mountain terrains is recommended.

Katie completed a challenge for The Charity; "Exploring the world whilst raising money for The Brain Tumour Charity was an incredible experience. I met wonderful people, experienced amazing scenery and although it was a tough challenge, I had the best time! I'd thoroughly recommend taking on a overseas challenge to anyone".

Kerry walked the Great Wall of China for us; "Inspired by my Father's courage and determination not to give up, I decided to trek the Great Wall of China to raise money for The Charity. I was quite unfit at the time so the prospect of trekking the 80k+ was very daunting but I received massive support from family, friends, the charity and complete strangers. I succeeded in raising over £3000 and will never forget the experience."

How do I organise a skydive?

There are many companies across the country that carry out skydives, we recommend Skyline but you can jump anywhere with anyone that suits you. You will receive support from us, including a fundraising pack and charity t-shirt for your jump.

You have two options:

1. Jump for free - In return for raising a minimum sponsorship amount we will pay for your jump and training and we'll receive a sizable donation from your efforts at the same time.

2. Jump yourself - Alternatively you could fund the jump yourself, and then aim to raise as much as possible for us.

If you have any questions please get in touch with the events team: events@thebraintumourcharity.org or call 01252 749043.

We are here to support you, whatever you want to do. Take on a new challenge and raise funds into lifesaving research.
