Launching our Winter Appeal 2019

Our community have come together to share their stories and their wishes for our Winter Appeal, creating a powerful campaign.

Over the coming weeks, we aim to raise funds directly for vital research for treatments for brain tumours so we can find a cure faster.

Because of the devastating impact of brain tumours on families, many of our community’s wishes will never come true.

Our wish is for a world without brain tumours. We know that together, we can get there.

Our Winter Appeal uses ‘I wish…’ stories, highlighting personal wishes from our supporters and those directly affected by a brain tumour, whether they are living with or who have lost a loved one to a brain tumour.

I wish…’ focuses on a special object to that person and show the powerful story behind it. We’re also asking our community to share their own wishes with us.

Jordan Toms, one of our long-standing supporters and living with a brain tumour, is part of the appeal and his story focuses on his loss of his driving licence following diagnosis and continuing treatment.

Jordan said of the ‘I Wish…’ campaign: “I know there are plenty of people stuck without a licence or not able to drive due to their diagnosis.

“It’s a profound hurdle to have to deal with, especially over the Christmas period when you’re not able to then see family easily. It can feel hugely isolating.

“The Winter Appeal is so important to highlight all aspects, all factors that affect you when you have to deal with a brain tumour or have someone you love having been affected.

“I’m hoping to help raise awareness of what we have to deal with this appeal.

“Family is really important and they can really help us get through the difficult.”

This year, we’re also pleased to have been chosen to participate in The Big Give Christmas Challenge 2019.

This means that for one week only (3–10 December), all donations made through The Big Give website are eligible to be matched.

We know that a diagnosis can have a radical and life-changing impact on those affected and their families and along with our strategy of halving the harm and doubling the survival of brain tumours

We wish that families had longer together, that treatments could be kinder and that research could move twice as fast. We’re wishing that we’ll find a cure for brain tumours – faster.

Please support us by making a donation to our appeal this winter. A gift made to our appeal this winter can help change the future and give hope to others affected by this disease.

We aim to spend at least 80p of every pound donated on our charitable objectives. And you can be sure that when you give to us, we’ll invest the money in the research that’s needed most.
