The information we provide to help schools understand the needs of pupils diagnosed with a brain tumour has been praised by the British Medical Association
Our Education Resources were named as a Highly Commended Resource in this year’s BMA Patient Information Awards, highlighting their excellence and value to teachers and parents.
We also have an Education Charter for each of the four UK nations, which outline the support young people have a right to receive and the timelines they should receive these in.
Rachel Sharp, our Children & Families Service Manager, said:
“We are absolutely delighted that our Education Resources have been ‘Highly Commended’ in the BMA PIA.
“Being diagnosed with a brain tumour is a life-changing experience and returning to nursery, school or college can often be a challenging time for the child, their parents and teachers.
“Our education resources have been developed to provide parents and teachers with the information they need to support a young person during this time.
“This award is a real testament to the high quality and value of our resources and we hope that all those affected by a brain tumour will continue to benefit from their use.”
