Tom and Lawrence arrived back in the UK after becoming the youngest duo to row the Atlantic unaided.
In 2012, just before Christmas, Tom lost his father, Luke Rainey, to a brain tumour. As a passionate sailor Luke taught Tom a great deal about the ocean. His death rocked Tom and his family to the core, but through The Brain Tumour Charity they were provided with the help and advice which Tom described as “an invaluable port in an otherwise unweatherable storm”.
In tribute to his dad Tom founded team Ocean Valour to raise money for The Brain Tumour Charity by rowing across the Atlantic with team mate Tom. Their boat was built and named Yves after Tom’s father’s own boat.

Today, after spending 93 days at sea and having set a new world record for nautical miles rowed in 24 hours, the pair celebrate arriving back in the UK and returning to solid ground.
