Aykroyd & Sons’s toughest challenge yet

Aykroyd & Son’s recently completed the Three Peaks challenge in less than 24 hours, raising £5000!

We are so very proud of the remarkable team at Aykroyd & Son’s, who recently completed the Three Peaks challenge – scaling the highest peaks in England, Wales and Scotland in less than 24 hours!

Aykroyd & Son’s support The Charity in memory of their colleague and close friend Pauline Lonsdale, who sadly passed away from a brain tumour.

They have supported us for many years through multiple fundraising activities and stacks of pyjama donations, which are used within our Brainy Bags for children affected by a brain tumour and their siblings .

The courageous team of 12 donned their hiking boots and took to this hills for 24 hours of challenging terrain, gruelling ascents and lack of sleep! However, their sheer grit and determination paid off and the team had an epic adventure across the wildness in aid of The Brain Tumour Charity.

“We are always looking at new and fresh ways to raise money for a charity that’s very close to our hearts. We wanted a real challenge that would test us physically and mentally, and it sure did!” said Ffion Aykroyd-Davies, Aykyord & Son’s.
“There was plenty of ups and downs during the 24 hours, but we did it and we are all very proud that we managed to complete the challenge in 23 hours and 32 minutes!

“It is by far the toughest challenge Aykroyds have ever attempted but definitely worth it every step.”

With an initial fundraising target of £2,000 conquered within weeks, the team raised the bar and completely smash their second target and have raised an incredible £5,000! Click here if you also wish to donate to the team.

All of us here at The Brain Tumour Charity are humbled by the level of commitment and support the Aykroyd & son’s team have shown over the past few years and wish to say a massive thank you to each and every member of staff at Aykroyd & Son’s – we think you’re all phenomenal!
