This International Day of Women and Girls in Science, we sat down with Dr Verónica Rendo, who was funded by The Brain Tumour Charity’s Future Leaders scheme in 2020.

We caught up with Professor Alan Davidson in Cape Town, who we funded to develop national treatment guidelines for paediatric brain tumours – low-grade gliomas and medulloblastomas.

Research we’re funding in partnership with The Oli Hilsdon Foundation at University College London is using advanced brain mapping to reveal how glioblastoma spreads and resists treatment, providing insight for potential new treatments.

Recently, we were given the exciting opportunity to visit a research laboratory at Oxford University, headed by Professor Daniel Ebner, where they are using state-of-the-art robots to help in the fight against glioblastoma.
