If you want to be part of something truly special, The Twilight Walk is one for you. This is The Brain Tumour Charity’s flagship event, created especially for raising funds and creating awareness.

Walk a route around central London, taking in the sights and immersing yourself in the incredible brain tumour community.

This event is so important to the community because of its inclusive atmosphere and the vital fundraising it does to help drive The Charity’s research, support and campaigning.

The Twilight Walk London is sold out for 2026, but you can still get involved by donating to The Twilight Walk or taking on your own Twilight Walk wherever you like.

National Three Peaks Challenge

Fundraising resources

Raising funds for your charity walk or trek shouldn’t be daunting. We want it to be easy, enjoyable and part of the overall experience.

That’s why we’ve put together some fundraising resources to help you along the way. In our resources you’ll find downloadable forms and guides, templates and posters.

You can even download graphics to use in social media posts or on your JustGiving page!

We’ve got general resources that should help with all the walks and treks we mentioned above. Plus, we have some specialised resources for The Twilight Walk London and Own Walks.

Preparation tips for your charity walk or trek

Here we offer a few tips on how to stay energised during your walk, how to get ready for the walk, and what to wear.

Nutrition

  • Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of fluids before, during, and after the walk.
  • Eat for energy: Keep your energy levels up by eating complex carbs like porridge ahead of the walk and snacking on energy bars and fruit during the walk.

Physical and mental preparation

  • Plan your transport: Plan how you’ll get to the walk and back. This will leave you more relaxed on the day.
  • Pack the night before: Packing before the day of the walk is useful to help you remember everything you need.
  • Rest: Try to get a good night’s sleep before your walk to store up energy.
  • Stretch before starting: Warming up helps get your body ready for the walk and reduces any risk of injury.

Gear

  • Footwear: Make sure you wear comfortable walking shoes or trainers to support your feet and avoid blisters. Remember to train in the footwear you plan on using.
  • Clothing: Wear layers to make sure you’re always comfortable in the conditions. Aim for breathable fabrics and remember waterproofs if it’s looking likely to rain.
  • Safety: Remember to bring sunscreen (if it’s a day event), a hat, and possibly some blister plasters or a little first aid kit if you have one.
