Arctic Adventure 2025

Join us for an Arctic Adventure and help us defeat brain tumours sooner.

The perfect antidote to the cold, wet British winter is a cold, dry Arctic adventure!

Replace the British winter with a Scandinavian wilderness away from the crowds and enjoy mesmerisingly peaceful scenes of frozen lakes and snow-covered pine and spruce forests.

You’ll be cross-country skiing, snow-shoeing and husky-sledding, and once back at the log cabin you can relax in the sauna and watch the night skies for the captivating dance of the Northern Lights.

Man riding sledge being pulled through the snow by huskies.

The overall experience was incredible and I've not stopped talking about it since – the huskies being the main highlight.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1: London to Kijaani/Kuusamo

Fly to Finalnd (Kijanni or Kuusamo) and drive through the seemingly endless snow-covered landscapes to your comfortable cabin near Hossa in north-eastern Finland. After settling in, you will have an evening meal before heading off to bed.

Day 2: Snowshoeing

You will have a full in-country briefing about the activities and then kit up thoroughly. After an introduction to snowshoeing, where you’ll quickly get the hang of this non-technical walking activity, you leave your cabin for an overnight adventure! Your route takes us through beautiful, silent woodland; the landscapes are magical, and the silence of your surroundings adds to the atmosphere. You’ll break for a picnic lunch around an open fire, then continue your invigorating journey to your cosy wilderness cabin.

Day 3: Snowshoeing

Returning by snowshoeing, you explore the ridges and frozen lakes on your way back. Elk, wolves, lynxes and hares live in the woods though are seldom seen; you may be lucky enough to spot tracks in the snow! Returning to the main log cabin, you have time to relax any aching muscles in the sauna and settle for an evening of watching out for the magical Northern lights.

Day 4: Husky-Sledding & Cross-Country Skiing

Husky-sledding is usually one of the highlights of the trip! You drive to a husky farm and meet the team of intelligent and enthusiastic huskies! After learning a little about the dogs from a ‘musher’, you have an introduction to sled-driving and set off! Pairing up, you take it in turns to drive while your sled-buddies enjoys the ride.

After lunch there is also time for an introduction to cross-country skiing – one of the most popular winter hobbies in Finland. A relatively short tour through the flat pine forest and frozen lakes tests what you’ve learnt; it’s not uncommon to see reindeer here, so keep your eyes peeled!

Day 5: Kijaani/ Kuusamo to London

Your final day will have an early start as you drive to the airport for your journey home.
