Dr David Michod will be inviting three young people to work alongside him and his research team in his laboratory at the University College London Institute of Child Health, London.

“The placement has definitely given me an idea of what it is like to work in a real research lab, and I am so excited to go to university and hopefully continue my education to have a career like this one day!” Emily, former work experience student.

The work experience will take place for a week from 18-22 July 2016 (11am – 4pm each day).

To be considered for this unique opportunity please email a cover letter and CV to support@thebraintumourcharity.org by 10pm on Monday 6 June 2016.

You need to be aged 16-17, in full time education and passionate about gaining experience of working in a laboratory focusing on research into brain tumours.

In your CV include educational institution, grades and contact details of a teacher who will act as a referee. Dr Michod’s team also ask that you use your cover letter to outline your motivation for applying, how you plan to make the most of the opportunity, what your future plans are and any other relevant experience.

Short-listed students will be contacted the week commencing 13 June 2016 and final selection decisions will be announced in late June.

One of our work experience students from last year, Amie, wrote a blog for us last year, about her thoughts on her time in the lab.
