The Jonathan Bristow Fund

Raising funds for The Brain Tumour Charity in memory of Jonathan

Jonathan's Story

Jonathan Michael Bristow lost his fight against Brain Cancer on Wednesday 4th June 2014 at the age of just 33. The aim of this page is to highlight and continue his fight against this terrible disease by raising funds in aid of The Brain Tumour Charity in his memory.

Jonathan's family and friends will be contributing to this fund at his funeral as well as arranging more fundraising activities in his memory. If you are interested in joining the fund raising team and wish to participate in or organise an event then please contact Jonathan's brother at

Jonathan was loved by everyone who met him and will continue to be an inspiration to many. Never once stopping to complain about the cards he had been dealt he battled his cancer right to the very end, surviving impossible odds and enduring 3 complex brain operations, radio therapy and chemotherapy, over three years. Jonathan took all this in his stride and bravely he prolonged the inevitable for as long as was possible.

Throughout Jon's life he has always been generous and put other people before himself, people would always flock to be close to him and he always made them feel welcome.

A prominent member of Brockleians Rugby Club, Bromley Rugby Club and Burnt Ash Hockey Club he was not only a very active person but also heavily involved in the social side of everything he did, fondly remembered by many with a Snakebite or Rum in his hand offering questionable feedback about his performance in the latest match.

Moving forward this fund will continue his memory and strive to make a real difference to others fighting against brain tumours so please give anything you can in memory of a truly great man taken from us too early.
